2 year mri check
hi friends!
we hope you all have been having a great summer!
we forgot to update after the last MRI, but Lewis had clear results - yay! thank you so much for your prayers. his next MRI is scheduled for this friday, july 25 at 8am, and will be his 2-year check-up since his surgery two years ago. please join us in praying for more clear results, that sedation goes smoothly, and lewis doesn’t get too upset about anything in the process.
we’ve also been meaning to share this super special, adorable write-up that The Atlantic did on Lewis’ surgery! they did a really good job capturing the complexities of the surgery and it’s just crazy to think that our story is out there for so many to read. a bit surreal seeing all of the pictures of Lewis up there, we hope this article brings hope to other craniopharyngioma families, and we are glad it highlights our star: Dr. JFM!
Lewis has continued to do really well with his daily growth hormone shot and keeps getting taller! it’s exciting to track his growth. he also was recently able to decrease his daily eye patch time from three hours to two because his vision has remained stable, which is great news!
in other news, Luke started a new job at Wired in may in the same field covering computers, so you can check out all his cool articles if you ever need a new one. as strange as it sounds, his unemployment was a nice blessing to our family & we appreciated the time together - god really showed up in a big way and provided for us in ways we could have never imagined, like he always does! we didn’t even have to worry about medical insurance.
this summer on June 5th, we celebrated Lewis being two years tumor-free - yay!! it was a huge win for the whole family. it’s hard to believe it’s been two years already. we went camping with friends to celebrate! our summer has been full with lots of little trips, and the boys enjoyed being the flower boy & ring bearers at their uncle’s wedding.
thank you for praying with us on friday!
